So much flooding or is this a floodplain area meant for holding the excess water?

Eunice, this is a dam, a body of water from which the farm stock (sheep or cattle) drink. This is how it looked after we had excess rain. If you go to my image When the Dam Runs Dry, you'll see the same dam, when water is in short supply. I live in a country of extremes.
