Description
The bathing boxes on the beaches of Melbourne have become an iconic symbol of the city. Built long ago, to preserve the modesty of women at the beach by providing them somewhere to change into their neck to knee swimsuits. They are now mostly held by families who pass them down from one generation to the next.

How wonderful that they have been kept up with paint and maintenance! Such a colorful scene. The sand and grasses bring it all to life! vf mm
Linda Lees replied:
They're worth a lot of money Marilyn. That's why they're well looked after. Thanks for taking the time to comment, it's much appreciated.

This one is very different from the other one. The wider view brings the beach into the mix and a better understanding of their relationship to this place. And you have beach grasses in here, which are always a welcome sight. I love grasses, but the beach grasses are often in places that are seasonal, so you don't see them as often as other grasses. These owners create some terrific personalities with their paint choices. Thanks for bringing these to us. L/F
Linda Lees replied:
I'm happy that you like the 'beach feel' to this one. I agree with you, the inclusion of the sand and the grasses does put the buildings more in context. Thanks for your lovely comment Glenn
