A paddlesteamer at the historic Port of Echuca on the Murray River which is the border between the states if Victoria and New South Wales, Australia.
The town of Echuca is home to the heritage listed Port of Echuca. Built in 1865 this was once a massive shipbuilding area and the wharf stretched for more than quarter of a mile. At its peak the wharf supported 8 sawmills and turned over about 240 boats per year. Nowadays it operates as a tourist attraction. Visitors can hear about the history of the area and take a ride on paddlesteamers such as The Pride of the Murray, PS Pevensey or PS Adelaide, three boats that were built in Echuca and still operating from their home port.
