Artist's Description
Native to the east coast, the Laughing Kookaburra is an iconic symbol of Australia. It's distinctive call sound like it's laughing.
In reference to the landscape, "bush" refers to any sparsely-inhabited region, regardless of vegetation. "The bush" in this sense is something that is uniquely Australian.

Britta Glodde
Beautiful close up. Don't this little bird, but it looks beautiful.
Linda Lees replied:
They're fabulous birds Britta. They're about the size of a magpie or crow and they have a wonderful call, it sounds like someone laughing. The ones who live near picnic ground can be quite bold, I've heard of them stealing sausages off the barbeque. Thanks for your visit and kind message
