Description
A still life photograph created using the cyanotype method which produces distinctive blue prints.
Cyanotype prints are made by painting the sensitising solution onto paper that can withstand being in water. I have used watercolour paper. The paper is left to dry without being exposed to UV light. Once dried, it is sandwiched with a negative the size of the desired print, between glass and a board. It's then placed in the sun for a period of time, in my case, it was a bright summer day, so 3 minutes exposure was enough. The glass and negative are removed and the paper placed into a tray of water, where after a short time, the picture begins to emerge. After several minutes washing, the picture is placed in water with a small amount of hydrogen peroxide to darken the blues and clear the whites. It is washed again in clear water, left to dry, and photographed with my slr to enable me to upload this artwork.

Nice job giving the canvas a look of textured paper, looks like a still life painting in soothing blue tones!

Thanks for your visit and kind comment William. This has been created using an alternative photographic method and printed onto watercolour paper, thus the texture. I will add this information to the description.
