"Not Pretty Enough"
Am I not pretty enough
Is my heart too broken
Do I cry too much
Am I too outspoken
Don't I make you laugh
Should I try it harder
Why do you see right through me
I live, I breathe, I let it rain on me
I sleep, I wake, I try hard not to break
I crave, I love, I've waited long enough
I try as hard as I can
Am I not pretty enough
Is my heart too broken
Do I cry too much
Am I too outspoken
Don't I make you laugh
Should I try it harder
Why do you see right through me
I laugh, I feel, I make believe it's real
I fall, I freeze, I pray down on my knees
I hope, I stand, I take it like a man
I try as hard as I can
Am I not pretty enough
Is my heart too broken
Do I cry too much
Am I too outspoken
Don't I make you laugh
Should I try it harder
Why do you see right through me

I like this photo. i believe that this photo improvisation created completely different theme that the original photo was intended to capture. But this is absolutely fine since only the author of this work can decide what message the work should carry. Vfw

Amazing composition Linda! Sure she is pretty enough, but often our selfimage are not true. fv

stunning art and poem. both could stand on their own, but together they are truly powerful
Linda Lees replied:
Thanks for the terrific compliment Jim, I'm happy you like this image. I can't take credit for the lyrics, they were written by Australian performer/songwriter, Kasey Chambers. But I do agree with you that they partner very well

Linda, this piece delivers such an important message and is very creatively presented! I find that it brings to attention what many men tend to focus on in their choice of a woman partner - that idea of physical beauty alone. What is beautiful inside is often disregarded or ignored. Wonderful composition! Voted and my selection for discussion today in the Female Artists Group. v
