Description
This building operated as the Duckholes Hotel from 1862 until 1896. For some reason the weatherboards were removed and the structure re-clad with this unusual collection of corrugated iron pieces sometime between 1968 and 1976. It stands on the corner of Duckholes Road at North Monegeetta, Victoria, Australia.

Wonderful composition, viewpoint and b/w treatment. Love that diagonal force in the image. LF

You know I have to see at least one of your great bw's. Those clouds could not be in a better position or more brilliant. And I will always love a tree in the mix. Great scene. L/F

I guess the boards were needed for something else! What an interesting patchwork texture this building turned out to be! ... the textured natural tree against the manmade structure complements so well; An interesting bit of local (architectural) history for the residents of Monegeetta, Linda ... :))

Thanks for your thoughtful comment Connie. I wonder if the interior has been salvaged for something else, maybe it's as it was left over 100 years ago?
