Description
Remarkable Rocks are ancient granite boulders located in the Flinders Chase National Park on Kangaroo Island off the coast of South Australia.
This series of photographs was taken on Kodak High Speed Infrared Film during 2003. I've recently had the opportunity to scan the negatives making it possible to include these photographs in my online gallery. Features of infrared film are a "glow" around some objects and a grainy appearance which is unique to film photography. Infrared film is sensitive to a wider range of light than regular film and can record parts of the light spectrum that is not visible to our eyes.

I really like the title you use for this series. They certainly live up to it. You have this beauty working at three levels, with excellent textures in all of them. Another thing for me to remember when I'm out on the road. Excellent work Linda. - Glenn

Thanks Glenn, I'm glad you like them. For your information, these rocks are actually called Remarkable Rocks, I can't take credit for their name.

Remarkable rocks, indeed! I've always enjoyed geological structures like this, so interesting Linda ~ l/f
Linda Lees replied:
Thanks Phil. I love rock formations too. I think it's time for a revisit of these, it's nearly twenty years ago that I took these photos.

This place (from your images, anyway!) reminds me so much of Joshua Tree and its huge rock formations all over the place!! Fantastic, Linda!!! :)))vf
Linda Lees replied:
Minus the magnificent cactus! Thanks for your lovely comment Laurie. There's so many wonderful places to explore and photograph in this world of ours!

This really is other-worldly, Linda! ... I love the textures here... highlighted by the graininess of the film; the clouds are exceptional :))
